More about Luuk van Aller
Read the interview with me in the Laarder Courant.
Luuk van Aller, manual and physiotherapist, was looking for a new challenge and he found it at Fysio Masters in Laren.
“I live with my wife and three young children in Laren for about a year and a half. I traveled to Amsterdam every day where I worked as a manual and physiotherapist at FysioMed, a large Topsport Medical Center. My specialization is treating neck and back problems. I was looking for a new challenge closer to home. I came into contact with Samira Waanders from Fysio Masters. After our first conversation I was immediately enthusiastic. She is also a manual therapist. We both strive to deliver superior physical therapy using advanced techniques and technology in order to get patients pain-free even faster”.
Luuk indicates that a manual therapist specializes in research and treatment of patients with injuries of the spine and joints. In short, injuries arise due to wear, overextension or a por lifting technique. Neck and back complaints often arise because people are inactive, sit a lot and lead a more stressful life. This can disturb the body balance and cause problems. My secret? “It is very important to map out the total picture. This means listening carefully, testing, finding out the cause and looking at a person’s profession and lifestyle. I achieve good treatment results because I can apply various (mobilization) techniques, dry needling and medical taping. It’s essential to adapt treatment techniques to the preference of the patient and the stage of the recovery process. I also provide effective exercises for at home. These are actually very easy to facilitate via our eHealth app. ”
Fysio Masters also works with the innovative Spinal Mouse. “This is a wireless scanner that I move from the top to the bottom over the spine. The mouse transfers the measurement results to my laptop so that all joints become visible. With this method, I can see exactly where stiff or too flexible areas are located in the spine, causing complaints and pain. The results are immediately available right after the scan and the advantage is that I can treat back and neck injuries right away much more specifically. As a result, patients experience improvement faster. In March we offer the ‘Spinal Mouse Back Scan’ for free to relieve as many people as possible of their back problems. I am looking forward to meet you!”
