More about Michelle Klaver
After I graduated in Tourism Management at the age of 21 I very much enjoyed working in the travel industry. After traveling for several years with pleasure, I felt that I was ready for something new. I wanted to do more with my interest in sports, wellness and nutrition. In addition, I wanted to genuinely help people.
In 2018 I graduated as a physiotherapist at Thim van der Laan. Right after that I immediately started working at a physiotherapy practice in the centre of Amsterdam. My focus areas in recent years have been in particular orthopedics and traumatology. In addition, I worked in a law firm as a company physiotherapist and made sure that people were able to comfortably work for extended hours without injuries.
When more patient injuries with broken fingers and wrists came to the practice in Amsterdam, I decided to specialize in hand therapy! After an extensive study and internship at Xpert Clinic, I could finally start to help people to use their most important tools (their hands) again. Anyone who can no longer use his or her hands in a normal way due to an accident, degeneration or overextension injury should make an appointment with me.
I enjoy interacting with all of my patients, designing a personalized plan of care specifically to benefit the goals of each patient, and seeing the progression of patients who may walk in recently discharged from a hospital, but on their last day of therapy able to run, jump, and return to work. Those are just some of the aspects that are very rewarding and what makes our physical therapy profession so valuable to everyone.
